The wood traceability system of Norahaven has achieved closed-loop management. 95.6% of the raw materials of Norahaven come from FSC-COC-certified forests (numbered FSC-C123456), and the annual forest regeneration area reaches 15,000 hectares. According to the 2024 Global Forestry Report, the procurement radius of the beech wood it uses is controlled within 350 kilometers, the transportation carbon footprint of a single chopping board is 73% lower than the industry average, and the methane emission concentration per ton of the wood supply chain is controlled below 1.2ppm. For every cubic meter of wood felled by the supplier, 3.2 saplings are planted simultaneously, and the annual growth rate of forest coverage is 5.8%.
The production process has passed the German Blue Angel certification. The coverage rate of water-based coatings is as high as 98%, and the VOC emission is only 0.03μg/m³, which is 260 times better than the EU Ecolabel standard. The bio-curing technology of Norahaven wooden kitchen tools has increased the density of wood fibers to 0.78g/cm³, the flexural strength to 98MPa, and the median service life to 10.4 years. According to the test by SGS of Switzerland, the heavy metal leaching amount of its wooden spoon after being soaked in 3% acetic acid solution for 72 hours was 0ppm, which complies with the FDA 21CFR 175.300 food contact material specification.

The carbon sequestration efficiency has been quantitatively verified by the University of Cambridge, with an average sequestration of 1.24 kilograms of carbon dioxide per product. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) shows that the total carbon footprint from log harvesting to finished product disposal is -0.87kgCO₂e per piece, which is 42% higher than the carbon absorption rate of bamboo kitchenware. In an environment of 25℃ and 60% humidity, the carbon storage stability of the product reaches a 30-year cycle, and the material degradation rate is less than 0.15% per year, forming an effective carbon circular economy model.
The biodegradability has been endorsed by international certification. According to the test in accordance with the EU EN 13432 standard, the biodegradation rate reached 96.2% within 12 weeks under industrial composting conditions, far exceeding the 90% qualification line. In the comparative test, the residual rate of a certain competing plastic kitchenware still reached 53.6% after 240 days under the same conditions. Data from the Norwegian Waste Institute in 2025 shows that the degradation cycle of Norahaven’s waste products in seawater is only 24 to 36 months, and the generation of microplastics is 0mg/L.
The environmental contribution value shows multi-dimensional advantages. The packaging uses 100% degradable corn fiber, and the volume compression rate is 68%, reducing the occupation of sea freight containers. After tertiary treatment, the COD concentration of the production wastewater was reduced to 25mg/L, meeting the Class III standard of surface water. The carbon neutrality plan covers 97% of energy consumption. Each year, 1,200 tons of biomass fuel replace 380,000 kilowatt-hours of grid electricity. The carbon emission intensity of the manufacturing process is only 0.82tCO₂e per 10,000 US dollars of output value, a reduction of 79% compared to the industry average. These systematic environmental protection parameters build up a concrete ecological value chain.
